Our head office, an exemplary environmental approach

The BNP Paribas Real Estate head office is HQE certified (France's high environmental quality standard) and has the THPE label ("Very High Energy Performance")

In the heart of the riverside eco-district of Bords de Seine, incorporating residential buildings, retail outlets and office buildings, the BNP Paribas Real Estate head office is HQE certified (France's high environmental quality standard) and has the THPE label ("Very High Energy Performance")

COMFORT AND HEALTH:

  • the building is kept a comfortable temperature, in winter and summer alike, by facilities designed for the purpose
  • sound levels are kept comfortable by means of a highly soundproof façade on the riverbank side and a suitably absorbent false ceiling in the open-plan offices
  • natural light is optimised by the geometry of the office floors and the interior layout
  • healthy air quality and open spaces, guaranteed by the choice of materials, emitting few or no VOCs (volatile organic compounds), control over air flows together with the filtering of new air to reduce the level of fine particulates from outside air

ECO-CONSTRUCTION:

  • an office building positioned as an acoustic screen, to protect residential buildings from traffic noise
  • a very clean site run in compliance with the "green site" charter set up in 2005 by BNP Paribas Real Estate and imposed on all those involved in site work

ECO-MANAGEMENT:

  • a ventilated double-skin façade considerably improving energy efficiency in summer and winter alike
  • Heat production through the Paris urban heating network (CPCU)
  • production of service water using solar water-heating panels

Our Property Management staff, who currently run the building, were involved from the building design stage. A set of control mechanisms and measurements were consequently put in place and used to monitor the performance level of all facilities:

  • heating, air conditioning, ventilation, lighting combined with a significant number of meters and control points
  • Highly effective BMS
  • data analysis and reporting system making it possible to ensure proper running of the facilities and to best optimise the various aspects of energy use

Three hives on the roof…

Bees have been declining in numbers for several years. Their disappearance would result in major ecological disruption.

They play a role in pollinating 80% of flowering plants, and are thus an essential cog in maintaining the balance of natural ecosystems and agriculture.
