BNP Paribas Real Estate staff have noticed a significant change over recent years in the criteria used by our clients when making property-related decisions. Previously relegated to last place, or even ignored, environmental criteria now tend to dominate among those factors which may fundamentally guide client decisions in selecting a building.

On the basis of this trend, BNP Paribas Real Estate Transaction staff are working in conjunction with those in Valuation and Consultancy to bring clients the most appropriate solutions.

For major building users, an energy-efficient building meeting environmental standards is not always the immediately obvious choice. Consulting staff stress to clients the benefits of selecting the most compliant buildings possible relative to these standards, in particular by striving to enhance clients' property ranking schemes to include "green" factors.

BNP Paribas Real Estate's Valuation business line is a member of the French Association of Property Valuation Companies (AFREXIM). As such, the Valuation section requests documents and information from its clients, in particular as regards the energy efficiency and environmental performance of property assets to be valued. This information gathering is a decisive factor in building valuations.
